Pastor, Change Agent, Coalition Builder, and Community Advisor, Dr. Shane B. Scott is a powerful and anointed messenger, teacher and speaker. With a prophetic voice and unique perspective into Christian living, he is passionate about offering diverse groups a meaningful lens for examining and empowering their lives while motivating changed people to change the world.
A native of Richmond, CA, Dr. Scott earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion and Philosophy from Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, AL, a Master of Divinity degree, with an emphasis in Pastoral Care and Community Development from the American Baptist Seminary of the West in Berkeley, CA. and he earned the Doctor of Ministry degree from New York Theological Seminary in New York City, NY. Dr. Scott also holds a certificate in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.

Dr. Scott is committed to the work of discipleship, mission, and transformation of the soul of the communities in which he is blessed to serve. He began his work in ministry as the youth minister of the historic Third Baptist Church of San Francisco and Youth & Young Adult Pastor of the Friendship Baptist Church in Vallejo, CA. Dr. Scott previously served as the Senior Pastor of the Saint Rest Baptist Church in Fresno, CA, where, under his leadership, the church experienced phenomenal spiritual growth, increased church membership, cultivated strategic partnerships and developed a Life Center that is an agent of change in the Fresno community. Dr. Scott now proudly serves as the senior pastor of the historic Macedonia Baptist Church in Los Angeles, CA.
With a progressive message of hope that has reached thousands of diverse populations, Dr. Scott has been the keynote speaker for the Hip Hop Summit at California State University at Fresno, the NAACP Freedom Banquet, the Annual Martin Luther King March, the National Baptist Convention, the National Baptist Convention-Congress of Christian Education, and a noted guest minister at churches, and other community events and conferences throughout North America.

His visionary and courageous leadership has continued to ripple throughout the local community and abroad including a commitment to forge collaborations between church and community. As a leader of numerous professional, social and civic organizations, Dr. Scott is a proud life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Diamond Life Member of the NAACP, active member of the National Urban League, voting delegate for the California State Democratic Party, Vice President at Large for the California State Baptist Convention, Advisory Board Member of the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, member of the Gateways Mental Health Hospital Foundation Board and a significant community engagement contributor to local pediatric health advocacy organizations. He has likewise served as a Board Member of the VEDC Entrepreneur Center, on the Central Valley New Market Tax Credit Board, the Drew Child Development Corporation Board of Directors and member of the EXIM Council on Small Business. In addition to this work, he has served as advisor to countless political and business leaders throughout the state of California and even galvanized the largest town hall meeting—mobilizing the city of Fresno to deal with the issue of violence.

In all of this, Dr. Scott recognizes that his most important ministry is to his family. He is blessed to share life with his best friend Mrs. Da’Vet Scott, MFT, their children: Miss Savannah Grace (15), Miss Lily Simone (13) and Master Shane Bernard, II (11) and their labradoodle Missy (5).
Recognized as a preacher, teacher, healer and friend, God has gifted Dr. Scott as an agent of Shalom.
